The 2020 AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program cycle is just around the corner – application packets will be available August 1, 2019.
- A successful application submission will immediately generate a confirmation email. The confirmation email is the only proof of submission that will be accepted after the deadline.
- Submit only one application-only the first version of the application will be accepted.
- Exceptions will not be made for applicants who fail to submit their application by the deadline.

AHCA/NCAL Quality Award
PHCA proudly supports our members that have achieved a Bronze, Silver or Gold AHCA/NCAL Quality Award. The AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award program recognizes member skilled nursing facilities and assisted living/personal care communities for quality care and performance excellence. They utilized the Baldrige performance Excellence criteria. The program has three distinct levels—Bronze, Silver and Gold. Members must successfully progress through each level of the program.

Bronze—Commitment to Quality
Applicants are assessed by their ability to describe links between their mission, key customers and strategic position and to show evidence of successful improvements driven by their performance improvement system. Learn more.
Silver—Achievement in Quality
Applicants provide an extensive self-assessment of their systematic approaches and deployment of those approaches. Applicants must describe performance measures and sustainable organizational and process results that are linked to their key customer requirements, success factors and challenges. Learn more.
Gold—Excellence in Quality
Applicants must demonstrate that they are achieving high levels of performance over time in the areas of—health care, customer satisfaction, operational finances, workforce, process and leadership. Applicants must detail their approach, deployment of programs and levels and consistency of results. Learn more.
