PHCA/CALM Names Dawn Murr-Davidson Director of Quality Initiatives

Dawn Murr-Davidson brings extensive experience in quality assurance and process improvement to support Pennsylvania’s long-term care community in continuing their commitment to quality for Pennsylvania’s most vulnerable residents

HARRISBURG — The Pennsylvania Health Care Association/Center for Assisted Living Management (PHCA/CALM) today reaffirmed its commitment to quality care for Pennsylvania’s seniors and their care providers by announcing Dawn Murr-Davidson, of Willow Street, Lancaster County, as the new Director of Quality Initiatives.

“I am delighted that Dawn has joined the staff at PHCA/CALM. She brings tremendous expertise in the areas of enhancing quality care and process improvement,” said Stuart H. Shapiro, M.D., PHCA/CALM CEO. “Her extensive experience as an accomplished clinical leader with more than 15 years of health management experience will be tremendous asset for PHCA/CALM member organizations and the individuals they serve.”

Dr. Shapiro said the association – recognizing that the first of Pennsylvania’s two million baby boomers are starting to reach the age where they need short-term or long-term care — is investing in staff resources that will continue to position PHCA/CALM as the commonwealth’s premier long-term care association.

“We are committed to helping Pennsylvania long-term care providers, including personal care homes, assisted living residences and skilled nursing centers, deliver the highest quality health care and highest quality of life to seniors and disabled individuals who can no longer safely live at home,” Dr. Shapiro said.

Murr-Davidson, who has been a Director of Nursing for several skilled nursing facilities, earned her bachelor of science in nursing from Eastern Mennonite University of PA in 1991 and is currently attending the University of Maryland University College for her Masters of Science in Health Care Administration and Business. For the past year, she served the Regional Director of Professional Services for the Community Health Accreditation Program (CHAP), which accredits community-based health care organizations. Prior to working for CHAP, Murr-Davidson worked as the Director of Branch Operations for VNA Community Services in Lancaster.
