PHCA/CALM Congratulates Wolf on Victory

HARRISBURG — Stuart H. Shapiro, M.D., President and CEO of the Pennsylvania Health Care Association and the Center for Assisted Living Management (PHCA/CALM), today issued the following statement on Tom Wolf’s gubernatorial victory:

“On behalf of PHCA/CALM, I want to congratulate Tom Wolf on his Election Day win. During his campaign, he made clear that Pennsylvania has an aging population that’s struggling and he talked about the need to protect our seniors and ensure dignity in the twilight of their lives. We could not agree more.”

“Pennsylvania’s population is aging rapidly and the demand for long-term care services is growing. We need to do all we can to ensure our sickest, frailest elderly residents get the services they need to live a healthy, safe, high-quality life in the most appropriate care setting as they age.”

“That is the single most important goal of every PHCA/CALM member. As the new governor begins his transition to the state’s top executive office, we look forward to working with him to ensure the greatest benefits to our ‘greatest generation.”
