PHCA/CALM Congratulates New Leadership Teams in House, Senate

HARRISBURG — The Pennsylvania General Assembly today announced the new leadership teams that will guide action in the House and Senate during the 2015-16 legislative session. Stuart H. Shapiro, M.D., President and CEO of the Pennsylvania Health Care Association and the Center for Assisted Living Management (PHCA/CALM), today issued the following statement:

“The next legislative session will bring with it new challenges and new opportunities — and with new leadership teams in place in the House and Senate, the General Assembly is ready to hit the ground running in January 2015,” Dr. Shapiro said. “On behalf of PHCA/CALM, I want to congratulate those in leadership. Each one of these positions carries great responsibility, and I know all of these men and women are up for the task, as are their peers in the legislature. Over the years, our elected leaders have shown their commitment to Pennsylvania’s frail elderly and disabled residents. I’m confident these leadership teams will continue to make older residents a priority. All of us at PHCA and CALM stand ready to do all we can to ensure these residents get the support and services they need as they age. We look forward to working with these legislative leaders and every member of the General Assembly in the coming legislative session.”
