Genworth released its Cost of Care Study on May 10, 2016. According to the study, the cost of receiving care continues to rise sharply year over year, especially for services in the home, where the vast majority of Americans receive long term care and for a longer period of time than facilities. In Pennsylvania the median monthly costs for the a semi-private room or a private room grew by 4% over the past five years with an annual cost of $108,847 and $116,800 respectively. Costs for assisted living in Pa also grew by 4% over the past five years with an annual cost of $43,200.
