With just a few weeks to go before the 2018 general election, Pennsylvanians are likely to be inundated with political postcards, emails, phone messages and television advertisements. Every candidate will tell you he or she deserves the privilege of representing you, but which candidates will truly support and defend long-term care issues after they’re sworn into office in January?
With a tight Governor’s race, a U.S. Senate race, 18 highly-competitive Congressional seats up for grabs and numerous state House and Senate seats in wide-open races, Pennsylvania will be in the national spotlight once ballots are cast on Tuesday, November 6th. This webinar will tell you who the real frontrunners are, who the surprise candidates may be, and where some of the more well-known legislators stand on issues affecting nursing homes, personal care homes and assisted living residences.
Additionally, PHCA will have received (for the first time ever!) a legislative questionnaire from candidates running for office. This questionnaire, developed by PHCA, will give us a firm understanding of how candidates perceive long-term care in Pennsylvania, and whether or not they’ll support our stances if elected. The results of this questionnaire will be broadcast on the webinar.
- Learn who the candidates are for important offices in Pennsylvania, including Governor, U.S. Senate and Congress,
- Learn and understand where candidates stand on issues, including long-term care and healthcare, and
- Develop strategies to get workers and residents to the polls to vote.
