Webinar: New CMS Regulations: Testing, Cohorting, Reporting and Enforcement

September 3, 2020 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

This webinar will be presented by Paula Sanders, Co-Chair, Health Care Practice Group, Principal with Post & Schell, PC.

CMS continues to up the ante with new infection control initiatives.  The new CMS regulations go into effect on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 upon their publication in the Federal Register. CMS figures providers have had plenty of time to understand the new rules (198 pages pre-publication) because the Interim Final Rule with Comment has been available since August 25, 2020.  To underscore the urgency surrounding these new requirements, CMS issued two memos to state survey agencies (SSAs) on August 26, 2020, providing guidance on how the SSAs are supposed to enforce these new regulations.  What does this mean for you and what should you be doing now? We will help you understand and prepare.

Learning Objectives:

  • Dissect the new regulations related to testing, reporting and enforcement
  • Explore the relationship between the new survey requirements and those that were issued on June 1, 2020 and August 17, 2020
  • Share best practices for surviving this latest onslaught
