PHCA is hosting a MEMBERS ONLY webinar on the Preadmission Screening Resident Review (PASRR) Forms and Process. PASRR is a federal requirement to help ensure that individuals are not inappropriately placed in nursing homes for long-term care.
PASRR requires that all applicants:
- To a Medicaid-certified nursing facility be evaluated for mental illness and/or intellectual disability;
- Be offered the most appropriate setting for their needs (in the community, a nursing facility, or acute care settings); and
- Receive the services they need in those settings.
The webinar will be presented by Randy Nolen, Division Director of Field Operations and Ruth Anne Barnard, B.S.N., R.N., MDS/OBRA Coordinator with the Pa Department of Human Services.
Attendees will:
- Gain a better understanding of the PASRR process and the changes made to the PASRR forms
- Be provided some tips on how to streamline the process when a Level II assessment is required
- Learn about the Field Operations review process as it relates to the PASRR requirements and acceptable documentation
While this rule primarily impact nursing homes, it is important for assisted living and personal care providers to understand the PASRR process for residents that are transferring to a skilled nursing facility under Medicaid.
This webinar is approved for 2 CEUs for nursing home, assisted living and personal care home administrators.
