1 CEU for SNF
Registration opening soon.
This webinar will be presented by John Whitman, MBA, NHA, CEO with Chandler Hall.
Providing quality dental care services in skilled nursing facilities has been a serious issue since Medicaid started in 1965. Compounding the problem is the fact that often 60% or more of facility residents are Medicaid and many are admitted with years of unmet dental issues, which the facility inherits.
This session will discuss the growing need for dental care services in our nation’s 15,000 skilled nursing facilities. The various ways in which those needs are currently being met will be identified and the pros and cons of each will be presented along with recommendations for improvement. Finally, a new entrepreneurial creation that has the potential to improve daily brushing and win the favor of CNAs will be shown and evaluated. Facilities interested in participating in a pilot study of this new approach, at no cost, will have the opportunity to volunteer following the webinar.
Your learning objectives include:
- Understand the reality of limited dental care services in America’s SNFs and its impact on quality and overall costs to our health care system.
- Explore the current options being used to provide dental care services in SNFs and the good, the bad, and the ugly of each option.
- Evaluate a new entrepreneurial creation that could significantly improve daily brushing in SNFs.
- Determine if you would like your facility to volunteer to participate in a pilot study using this new dental care creation.
