C-5: Quality Measures and the 5-Star
In this program, we will review the areas of the 5-Star rating that have changed and the overall calculation of the 5-Star with an emphasis on quality measures. 5-Star calculations are based on three domains effective April 24, 2019: State Health Inspections, staffing and Quality Measures/Claims Based. The quality measure can be instrumental in raising or lowering your overall Star rating. There are 17 quality measures reported on Nursing Home Compare. This program will assist you in identifying your quality measures. This program is designed to provide you with the insight of which measures affect your 5-Star Rating and the way your measures are reported on Nursing Home Compare. The object of this program is learning to utilize these measures and understand their effects resulting from MDS coding. The importance of making timely corrections and tools to ensure your facility is successful in integrating this into your QAPI program. In addition, we will review, the QIES system, obtaining and navigating the Casper Reports QM Package Reports. The Lancaster Group offers an analysis of your quality measures and will provide insight to improving your overall quality measure score.
