A-9: Falls Management in the Dementia Population: An Interdisciplinary Approach
As we age, the likelihood of sustaining a significant injury due to a fall rapidly increases. There are a multitude of evidence-based interventions that are highly effective in the treatment and prevention of falls. These interventions and strategies can result in improved quality of life, decreased risk of falls, decreased risk of injury, decreased burden of care, and fiscal savings. This session focuses on the interdisciplinary team approach to promote resident safety and overall well-being.
